Bodegas Carchelo, EYA Monastrell 2021

Bodegas Carchelo was founded in 1990 and is now into its second generation of family ownership. Based in the storied region of Jumilla in south eastern Spain, they pride themselves on producing exceptional, authentic red wines which showcase all the depth and power this region has to offer. EYA Monastrell 2021 is a stunning, fruit-driven Monastrell (Mourvedre) which showcases the variety at its big, bold best. Taken from vines aged between 20-30 years and completely unoaked, it has an intensely fruity nose with notes of blackcurrant, bramble, blackberry and violet. The palate is rich and smooth, with well-integrated tannins and a good level of acidity carrying the very fruity finish. A great pair with grilled dishes or cheese.
